Come and meet some of the Adopt London South team so that we can start a conversation about your adoption journey. This event is the first step in your learning about the adoption process and an opportunity to find out more about the children in London needing families. We will deliver a presentation about the adoption assessment, you will hear about the impact of adoption on children, what is expected from you, and about the types of support that we can provide to help.

We are currently offering assessments to potential adopters who want to adopt babies and young children via the Early Permanence, sibling groups, older white children aged 2-6 years old that will need additional support throughout their childhood arising from their traumatic early life experiences, and black Caribbean, black African, or mixed ethnicity children of all ages.

Our friendly Social Workers will cover...

• The qualities you'll need to be an adoptive parent
• The amazing children that are currently awaiting adoption
• How you can prepare yourself to become an adopter
• How to apply and the timescales involved
• The support you can expect during the application process and once you've adopted
• The support you can expect

Plus we'll be inviting one of our adopters to give you a unique insight into the experience of applying to adopt and welcoming your child.

Plus there'll be lots of time to ask all of those questions that are on your list.

CCS Adoption, a local independent, voluntary adoption agency in Bristol, is running an online Adoption Information Event for people thinking of adopting. Book yourself a place, and you can explore adoption, the children who need adoptive families and CCS Adoption – the region’s only Ofsted “Outstanding” adoption agency.

There will be a short presentation via Zoom with their expert adoption team, who will be able to answer any questions you might have and tell you more about the lifelong support and training we provide. You’ll find out what the next steps are if you decide to adopt a child or siblings.

You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from our adopters during the Q&A session and learn about their experiences and the support we provide after adoption through our Adoption Support.

This Information Event will be held via Zoom, so if you want to book a place, please use the booking form on their website. We work with families living in the West and South West areas of England in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.

Our online information events are a great way to learn more about adopting, the adoption process and how Adoption Focus can support you.
They're ideal if:
• you're in the early stages of researching adoption
• you want a general overview of how the adoption process works
• you've been looking into adoption for a while and feel ready to start the process with Adoption Focus, an Ofsted 'Outstanding' rated agency
• you're contacting local agencies to decide which one to proceed with
• you want to find out more about the children who are waiting to be adopted
• you have specific questions you'd like to talk through privately with an expert
• you're interested in an early permanence route into adoption

They begin with a live presentation from a member of our team, covering all aspects of adoption and our service. Following this you'll be given the opportunity to arrange a private phone call or video chat with one of our experienced adoption social workers in which you can have your questions answered and talk about next steps.
