In England 3,000 children are waiting for adoptive parents. Could adoption be right for you and your family?
Early Permanence placements allow babies and young children to find foster carers who are ready to adopt them later, if the courts decide they cannot be cared for permanently by their birth family.
This section takes you through the adoption process stage by stage with practical information, interactive exercises and audio and video guides.

Coram Ambitious for Adoption is hosting a free information session about adopting in the London area.
There are currently many children of black African & Caribbean and mixed black heritage waiting for a permanent family they can identify with. These children often wait the longest to be adopted.
We encourage you to come forward if you are from a black or dual heritage African or Caribbean background and are interested in parenting a child through adoption.
If you live within the M25 area, come along to our free in-person Adoption Information Evening at Coram Campus in London. This will give you the opportunity to find out more about adoption and ask any questions you might have.
Our social workers will talk you through the children in need of permanent and loving families, the assessment process and the preparation process for new adopters, how children join their new families, and the kinds of post-adoption support that Coram has to offer.
There will then be time to ask any questions you may have. It’s the ideal opportunity to find out more, whether you’re only just beginning to consider adoption or if you’re further down the line in the process.
